History of Colegio de Ntra. Sra. del Buen Consejo- The school was established based on two foundations: the Beaterio de
Sta. Rita de Pasig (1740-1898) and the Beaterio de Mantelatas Agustinas de Barcelona (1883) from Spain. One of the early Agustinian
priests, Fr. Felix de Trillo O.S.A. with the help of Pedro and Rita Quijano, saw the need to make a school part of these "beaterios",
which were actually institutions for orphaned girls. Thus, on April 26, 1909, Sor Clara del Santissimo converted the orphanage
into a Colegio providing the much needed education and training for the Filipino children in town. Through the past years,
it has witnessed the transformation of Pasig through various colonial occupations without wavering from its noble purpose
of educating the youth.
Photo is from the Pasig Museum Collection showing the school after it was rebuilt in 1931-32. The
original building was first built in 1870 as an orphanage.
